historical notes Henry Suydam Wilson was a businessman (New York and Chicago Stock Exchange) and art collector.

The Wilson Collection included work by, among others, Rudolph Epp, Felix Zeim, Emile Beranger, Jean Baptiste Edouard DĂ©taille, Adolf Schreyer, Jean Baptiste Robie, Ignacio de LeĂłn Escosura, and Alberto Pasini.

Wilson’s daughter, Alice Lewis Burdette Wilson Thorne (1861-1925), sold works of art she had inherited from her father at two separate auctions via the American Art Association in 1917 (January 16 and 24).
