Introduction	Op den 10 februarij 1628 zyn vercocht dese navolgende goederen achtergelaten bij Anthonij de Leeuw. Postscript: ten huyse van Gerrit Jacobsz. dese penningen datelyck betaelt aen een vrouw ende aen de weduwe van Anthony de Leeuw in presentie van my als getuyge. Signed J. Olycan.
Commentary	On 10 November 1610, Anthonij de Leeuw, from Antwerp, ad-t (advocaet ?), 36, living on the St. Annestraet, was betrothed to Elisabeth Sandra, 22, assisted by Jan Sandra, her father (DTB 421/16). In the INTRO to the inventory of Johan Sandra de oude (INVNO 281), dated 1624, Anthony de Leeuw and Susanna Sandra were mentioned among the heirs. J. Olycan, who signed the receipt for the proceeds of the sale, is probably identical with Jacob Olycan of R 20418. Anthony de Leeuw went bankrupt around 1625 when he made an appearance before the church consistery. However, he denied that the was a bancquerottier, only that his faillissement had been caused by others (Roodenburg, Onder censuur, p.378). Some time in 1627, Anthony de Leeuw, who had had bought a painting by Pieter Bruegel I of Christ carrying the cross for 750 f. turned it over, along with 215 f. cash, in lieu of the bequest made to Metken Thijmens, widow of Jacques Carbeels, to Elisabet Godelet, the wife of Pieter Bruegel II and the mother of Sijmon van Swieten (for details see the TEXT of R 1167 of INVNO 1247).
