CommentaryAbraham van Dalen, married to Susanna van der Armeyden, was the father of Anna van Dalen, born in Antwerp in 1584. Anna married Michiel Faes (or Fas), a dyes merchant, who became a Diaken of the Reformed Church in 1617 (Elias, Vroedschap, p. 931). Michiel Faes was a buyer at his father-in-law's sale (R 27256), as was Jan van der Armeyde, who was probably Susanna's brother (R 31298). On 19 March 1591, Abraham van Dalen and Susanna (no last name) had their child Abraham baptized in the N.K. Abraham Spiers was the godfather (DTB 38/187). Abraham Spiers was the second husband of Agathe van Maerle, the daughter of Jan van Maerle of INVNO 270. He was the father of Jan Spiers of R 23553. His daughter Lubbetje Abrahams was married to Pieter Pietersz. Bos of R 27353 of Montias2. Abraham van Dalen II, baptized in 1591, lived in The Hague in 1634, when, in a procuration dated 22 November, he was named by his brother Jan to collect money from Jacob (Jacques) and Cornelis Specx (NA 843, fol. 776, Not. Hoogeboom). Jan van Dalen (cited in the NOTES to R 7696 of Montias2) was a stone dealer.
