history George Washington Vanderbilt was an American collector. He was the son of William Henry Vanderbilt (1821-1885) and a grandson of Cornelius Vanderbilt (1794-1877).

G. W. Vanderbilt had a collection of Rembrandt and Whistler etchings, as well as rare tapestries, rugs, bronzes, Japanese prints and books.

He married Edith Stuyvesant Dresser in Paris, June 1898.
