Art dealer; New York, N.Y. Opened the Ruth Teschner Gallery in 1912. In 1935 she established another gallery, Connoisseur Inc., which closed after her death. A dealer in painting, sculpture, and antiques, she advised such collectors as Walter C. Baker, Stavros Niarchos, Henry Ford, Robert Lehman, and Asila Mellon Bruce. Her husband, Arturo Constantino, an Italian diplomat and banker had a substantial role in the building of the Italian Pavilion at the 1939 World's Fair. |
