Helen Louise Birch Bartlett was an art collector, musician and poet. She and her husband, Frederick Clay Bartlett (married 1919), collected work by French Post-Impressionist and modern artists, such as; Picasso, Matisse, Cezanne, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Rousseau le Douanier, Ferdinand Hodler and Seurat. Her father was Hugh Taylor Birch (1848–1943), a prominent Chicago attorney. |
