Marshall Field was an art collector, investment banker, Publisher (Newspaper, Magazine, and books), Racehorse owner/breeder, and philanthropist. Founder of the Chicago Sun & Parade, he was the grandson of American merchant Marshall Field (1834-1906) and son of Marshall Field 2nd, who died in 1905 of an accidental gunshot wound, Marshall Field 3rd went into publishing. He started the Chicago Sun in 1941 and in 1948 merged it with the Chicago Times. |
