According to his New York Times obituary, Hill owned 18 paintings by Corot and other work by Fromentin, Decamp, Puvis de Chavannes, Millet, Troyon, Bouguereau, Banvin, Cazin, Henner, Laurens, Jules Breton, Daubigny, Dupré, Delacroix and Diaz.

Hill was a member of the Union, Metropolitan, Manhattan, Jekyl Island, Down Town, and New York Yacht Clubs.
