Art collector, philanthropist and insurance expert, Philip J. Mosenthal was the head of H. Mosenthal & son, an insurance firm that specialized in building construction with low insurance costs. Mosenthal had business dealings with the Bankers Trust Company, Federal Reserve Bank, Hotels Manhattan, Belmont, and B. Altman & Co. Mosenthal's collection of Gothic and Renaissance sculptures, furniture, primitive paintings, tapestries and Egyptian antiquities sold at the American Art Galleries in April, 1925. |
