Campbell's soup heir whose art collection was sold via Sotheby's in 1989, for $135.3 million. Dorrance’s collected Impressionist and modern art, French 18th-century furniture and Chinese, English and German porcelains. His collection included work by Monet, Degas, Pissarro, Picasso, Sisley, Bonnard, Renoir, Matisse, Cezanne, Gauguin, Fantin-Latour, Manet, Modigliani, Vuillard, Van Gogh, Corot, Courbet, Redon and Daumier. Dorrance was an executive for Campbell Soup Co. (1946-), Chairman of Campbell Soup Co. Board (1962-), Director of Carter Hawley Hale Stores, Morgan Guaranty Trust Co., others. He was a trustee of Princeton University, Donor and chairman of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. |
