history Sidney "Sid" F. Brody was a Los Angeles real estate investor, civic leader, art collector and patron.

Brody and his wife Frances "Francie" Lasker Brody began collecting art in the 1950's at the urging of Frances’ father and step mother, Albert and Mary Lasker. They collected nineteenth and twentieth century paintings, drawings and sculptures.

The Brody collection included work by, among others, Moore, Braque, Bonnard, Picasso, Giacometti, Chagall, Degas, Dufy, Matisse, Renoir and Rodin, as well as Calder mobiles, Etruscan artifacts and Japanese prints.
