Robert Langton Douglas was an English scholar and dealer who served as the Director for the National Gallery in Dublin. Douglas was affiliated with the house of Duveen. Langton Douglas was married three times: first to Margaret Jane Cannon in 1891, they had one child William Sholto Douglas (1893-1969, later 1st Baron Douglas of Kirtleside), the marriage ended in divorce in 1901; then in 1902 to Gwendolen Mary Henchman (daughter of Thomas Henchman) they divorced in 1927; he married his third wife and former research assistant, Jean Stewart (daughter of John Stewart and later Mrs. Edward Fowles) in 1928. |
