Suzy Frelinghusen, nee Estelle Condit Frelinghuysen, was an art collector, artist and opera singer. She married the abstract painter George L. K. Morris in 1935, under the name of Suzy Morris. She and her husband, George, collected European and American abstract art and their collecting included paintings by Ilya Bolotowsky, Bryon Browne, and Balcomb and Gertrude Greene, among others. Suzy was the granddaughter of Frederick T. Frelinghuysen, Secretary of State under President Chester A. Arthur, and the grand-niece of Theodore Frelinghuysen, a US Senator of New Jersey and Second Chancellor for New York University. |
