history | Primarily known as an actor, director, and performer, Cheech Marin has assembled a comprehensive private collection of Chicano art. Following the success of the travelling exhibition “Chicano Visions American Painters on the Verge,” which consisted mostly of works from his own collection, Marin decided to donate over 700 paintings to the Riverside Art Museum. In collaboration with the City of Riverside and the museum, the Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art, Culture & Industry of the Riverside Art Museum was constructed to house the collection in 2022. | ||||||
