history Helen Bayleff Lansdowne Resor was an art collector, advertising executive (vice president of the J. Walter Thompson Company), and copywriter.

The Resor collection included, in addition to decorative arts, work by Paul Klee, Salvador, Dali, Balthus (Baltusz Klossowski de Rola) (French, 1908-2001), Picasso, Marie-Hélène Vieira da Silva (French, born Portugal, 1908-1992. Worked in Rio de Janeiro 1940-47.),and Sir Matthew Smith.

Parts of the collection were auctioned via various departments at Sotheby Parke Bernet Inc., in 1966.
