Elizabeth Hilken Nitze Paepcke was an art collector, socialite and philanthropist. Her collection included work by Lazlo Moholy-Nagy, Pablo Picasso and others, and would occasionally loan art works from her collection to museums. Elizabeth married (1922) Walter Paul Paepcke (founder of the Container Corporation of America) they had a son Walter, Jr. (d. 1926) and three daughters, Anina, Paula and Antonia. |
