President of Barrett Manufacturing Company, Fletcher Isaac Dudley was a businessman, manufacturer and art collector. Fletcher's collection included work by David, Gainsborough, Rembrandt, Reynolds, and Rubens, Alexander H Wyant, Corot and Daubigny. In addition to paintings, Fletcher collected stained glass, rare rugs, ancient Egyptian and Persian pottery. Fletcher left his art collection to the Metropolitan Art Museum. Fletcher was a member of the Lotos, Union League, Metropolitan, and New York Whist Clubs. Fletcher was married to Miss Marie Elizabeth Pickering. |
