Arthur Hastings Merritt was a dentist, philanthropist and collector of Staffordshire pottery. The Merritt collection included work by, among others, Andrew Stevenson, James & Ralph Clews, Enoch Wood & Sons, Job & John Jackson, and William Adams & Sons. Merritt donated part of his collection to the New York Historical Society. |
