Hiram Burlingham was an art dealer and collector who specialized in furniture, Georgian silver, paintings, and tapestries. His collection was sold via the American Art Association in 1935. Burlingham collected historical portraits and included, among others, John Singleton Copley by James Tilley, Colonel Abraham de Peyster by Evert Duyckinck 3rd, Nathaniel Rochester by John James Auduson, John Rush by John Neagel, NA, and Abraham Lincoln by James Read Lambdin (painted from life). |
