history Alexander Rolland Peacock was an art collector, businessman (partner of Andrew Carnegie), plate glass manufacturer and hotelier.

Peacock collected modern paintings mainly from the Barbizon School. Paintings from his collection were sold via American Art Association in New York at the Grand Ballroom of the Plaza Hotel on January 10, 1922.
