Clendenin J. Ryan, Jr. was a collector, businessman, and politician, son of Clendenin J Ryan and grandson of Thomas Fortune Ryan. Ryan collected decorative arts and prints. Art from Ryan’s collection were sold in 1959 via Parke-Bernet Galleries, Inc, NY, NY. Ryan was married twice; he married his first wife, Countess Marie-Anne Wurmbrand-Stuppach of Vienna, Austria in 1934, their marriage was annulled in 1935, and in 1937, he married his second wife, Jean Harder of NY. |
