Samuel Jones Tilden was a politician, philanthropist and art and book collector. Tilden bequeathed both his book and print collections to the City of New York. Tilden’s print collecton included British caricature, scrapbook assembled by Horace Walpole, collection of prints by William Hogarth, along with prints and drawings by James Gillray. |
