history George H Earle, Jr. (1860-1929) was a collector and railroad man. Earle purchased the Choctaw Coal and Railway Company with several businessman including Sydney F Tyler and was a member of the Philadelphia Art club and Director of The Real Estate Trust Company of Philadelphia, 1916-1917.

His collection included Greek coins among paintings and other art objects including work by Sir Godfrey Kneller and Wm. M. Chase in 1907

Earleā€™s collection of ancient and modern coins sold at public auction, 1912 by Messrs. Davis & Harvey.
