Daniel William Powers was an art collector, patron, and owner of the Powers Art Gallery in Rochester, NY, where he displayed his personal collection. After Powers died in 1897 the gallery closed, and the collection was sold at auction in New York City in 1899 According to The Art Treasures of America, Powers owned works by O. Achenbach, L. E.
