Carl William Schraubstadter collected Japanese prints. Part of his print collection was sold at an auction the American Art Association in February of 1921. The dispersal of his estate in 1948 in two sales at Parke-Bernet Galleries, New York, brought $25,203 for 616 lots, of which 409 were works by Hiroshige. |
