Joseph Longworth was an art collector. After his death in 1884, his collection went to his son, Nicholas Longworth. J. Longworth was the son of real estate millionaire and horticulturist, Nicholas Longworth, 1782-1863. According to The Art Treasures of America, Longworth owned works by A. Achenbach, L. Chialiva, N. De Keyser, Hans. Gude, L. Knaus, B. C. Koekkoek, Carl Kunz, C. F. Lessing, J. Ribera, and W. Riefstahl. |
