history Harold Schnitzer was a businessman, Harsh Investment Corporation, and an art collector.

Schnitzer and his wife, Arlene Schnitzer (1929–), formed a collection of Chinese art from the Neolithic to the modern periods. The collection’s strengths are in ceramics from the Han (206 BCE–220 CE) and Tang (618–907) dynasties.

Their son, Jordan Schnitzer (1951–), is also an art collector.
