history |
Elizabeth Owens Morse Genius (1872-1928) was the daughter and heir of the Chicago industrialist Charles Hosmer Morse (1833-1932). She and her husband, Dr. Richard Millard Genius (1865-1941, m. 1905), formed a collection which included custom-made arts and crafts furniture, Tiffany glass, and paintings by artists ranging from Albert Bierstadt to American impressionists such as Edward Duffner, Guy Wiggins, and John Carlson, among others. The Geniuses had two children, Richard and Jeannette. |
