Hans Caspar Syz was a collector of porcelain and faience, author, psychiatrist and co-founder of the Lifwynn Foundation in Westport, CT. Syz’s porcelain collection included works of art from Europe and Asia. His collection was transferred to the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American Art in 1963. Dr. Syz married the former Emily Burrow in 1939 and they had two sons, John and Stephen. |
