Samuel Washington Woodhouse, Jr., was an art collector, Acting Director of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, 1919-1928, and a physician. Woodhouse owned Lowestoft and Spode china, English and American silver, Sheffield miniatures, engravings, diamonds and jewelry, and some paintings (George Chinnery, Thomas Hickey, Rembrandt Peale, DeRuyter, and Melchior Hendekoeter). |
