Harris Brisbane Dick was an art collector, publisher and owner of book publishing firm of Dick Fitzgerald (18 Ann Street). Dick and his father William Brisbane Dick (1826–1901) collected etchings by modern etchers. Etchings in their collection included work by, among others, ames Abbott McNeill Whistler (1834–1903), Sir Francis Seymour Haden (1818–1910), Hugh Cameron (1835–1918), and Anders Leonard Zorn (1860–1920). The etchings along with Dick's residuary of his state estate, $1,328,357, were bequeathed to The Metropolitan Museum of Art. |
