history Robert Cooper Scull was a New York taxi medallion owner and art collector who backed the Green Gallery in New York. Along with his wife, Ethel, Scull collected pop, minimal and abstract art.

The Scull collection included work by, among others, Willem de Kooning, Barnett Newman, Mark Rothko, Franz Kline, Michael Heizer and Walter de Maria.
