Jules Semon Bache was an American banker and art collector who made his fortune on Wall Street, organized the banking firm of J. S. Bache and Company. Bache was president and treasurer of Dome Mines Limited, director of Chrysler, Lake Superior Railroad, Louisiana Oil Refining, Tennessee Copper & Chemical, Southern Agricultural Company, U.S. Industrial Alcohol Company, New River Collieries, Cuba Distilling, American Indemnity, Anniston City Land, New Amsterdam Casualty, Ann Arbor Railroad, Empire Trust Company and others, member Council on Foreign Relations. He donated works of art to The Metropolitan Museum of Art. |
