Charles B. Benenson was a real estate developer, hilanthropist and art collector (a wing of African Art dedicated to him at the Metropolitan Museum of Art). He was married to Jane Benenson of New York. He received a BA from Yale University in 1933 and donated work by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jean Arp, David Smith, Stuart Davis, Giacometti, Ernst, Francis Picabia, Kurt Schwitters, Pablo Picasso, August Rodin, Henri Metisse, and 19th and early 20th Century African Art. |
