Collector, architect, and real estate developer who retired at 40 so he could devote his fortune to his passion, collecting contemporary art. He was married to Gisele Galante Broida. Broida gave 175 works of art to The Museum of Modern Art (NY, NY), and 62 modern and contemporary paintings, sculptures, and works on paper to the National Gallery of Art (Washington, DC). Broida's collection included work by Franz Kline, Willem de Kooning, Robert Morris, David Nash, Claes Oldenburg, Susan Rothenberg, Joel shapiro, Carl Andre, Richard Artschwager, Jake Berthot, Mark de Suvero, Dorothy Dehner, and Jacob El Hanani. |
