Collector 20th-century art, vice president of the Whitney Museum of American Art, and chairman of the Battery Park City Fine Arts Committee (NYTimes). Mr Ganz purchased his first painting a Picasso, Le rĂªve (1932), in August of 1941 and Mrs. Ganz purchased their last painting by Jasper John's, Untitled, 1990, in March of 1991. Art collection focused on the work of Pablo Picasso, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Frank Stella and Eva Hesse. The Ganz's among others owned work by Mel Bochner, Richard Tuttle, Brice Marden, Frank Stella, Robert Smithson, Anthony Caro, Carroll Dunham, and Dorthea Rockburne, Two of his children, Kate and Tony Ganz, collect and donate works of art. |
