Emerson McMillin was an art collector, banker (head of banking house Emerson McMillin & Co). His collection collection sold in January of 1913, for $442,395, and included work by Corot, George Inness, Daubigny, Alexander H. Wyant, J Francis Murphy, Homer D Martin, Largilliere, Thomas Moran, Robert C Monr, Henri Harpignies, Troyon, Jean Francois Millet, Jules Dupre, Jean Baptiste Camille, Diaz, Charles Emile Jacque, and Rousseau. McMillin was a member of the Union League, National Arts, Engineers, Lotos, Banker and Lawyers clubs. |
