Buyer Notes | Bredius suggested that that the Christian name Rigo might stand for the Italian Hendrigo. Hendrick van Cleve (III), who is known to have travelled to Italy before he returned to Antwerp in 1551, was a landscape painter. A Panorama of Rome was engraved after his work. Is it possible that Heijnrick van Cleef might be vette Heyn, one of whose paintings has been identified (in Prague), as well as several drawings. |
