Buyer | Gerrit Soutberch |
Buyer Family | Soutberch, Gerrit (Witts) | Buyer Notes | In 1606, Gerrit (Govertsz.? Witts?) Soutberch lived in the Sevenstar when he bought lots in the Haarlem lottery of 1606 (144/29 F1047). In 1625, he was living in the Gouden Schaep with Hendrick Omphalius (R 20580). He seems to be identical with Gerrit Witts Souburch, who was living in Leiden in 1623 when he was cited in connection with the dyer Claes Barentsz. (NOTES to R 7625). He was related both to Barentsz. and to Goswinus van der Hal of INVNO 291 (see R 7625). It is clear from the will cited below that Gerrit Witts Souberch was related to Gerrit Govertsz. Souburch, married to Agnieta Jacobs Rauwart, the daughter of the collector Jacob Rauwart. Gerrit Govertsz. Souburch, of R 7632, apparently died in 1623. In his will he had named his brothers Jacob Govertsz. and Rutgert Govertsz. Souburch along with the children of Witte Govertsz. (of whom Gerrit Witts was presumably one), Jan Govertsz., Gysbert Govertsz. and Jannetge Goverts Souburch and the descendents of his half sister Maritgen Goverts (married to the Advocaet Fiscael Hendrick Storm) (WK 5073/889, 20 May 1623, fol. 158 vo. to fol. 178.) Gerhardt (Witts) Soutberch is listed among the signatories of the Remonstrant petition of 1628. |
