| Buyer Notes | In a document of 18 September 1621, Anna van Loon was already said to be the widow of Adriaen Spiering (Van Dillen, Bronnen tot de geschiedenis van het bedrijfsleven 78(1933), pp. 416-7). The buyer of the lot in R 25009 was called Nicolaes Spierincx tot de weduwe Spierinck. He is likely to be the buyer of this lot also. On 8 May 1630, Niclaes Spieringh, from Rotterdam, 25, assisted by his mother Anna van Loon, living on the Keysersgracht, was betrothed to Magdalena van der Meer from The Hague, 28, assisted by her mother Cornelia Santen (DTB 435/220). Anna van Loon was the sister of Hans van Loon of R 7696. The widow Spierings (presumed to be Anna van Loon), with her children, living on the Keysersgracht, was taxed 500 f. in 1631 (Kohier, fol. 295vo, p. 67). She signed the Remonstrant petition of 1628. On 30 March 1640, two workers at the weighing station (aen de Wagh) (near the Town Hall) declared that various individuals had received bales of pepper including Nicolaes Spierinck (NA 992, film 1221, fol. 46, NOt. J. Busch). The widow of Nicolaes Spierinck was invited to the 50th wedding anniversary of Hans van Loon and Anna Ruyckhavers in 1647. | |
