Buyer FamilyHoeven, Govert van den (I)
Buyer NotesOn 17 August 1623, Govert van der Hoeven, from Haarlem, 28, assisted by Felix van der Hoeve, living in the Halsteech, was betrothed to Maria de Kuijper, from Hamburgh, assisted by Anthony de Cuijper (DTB 669/190). The buyer, living behind the Beurs, was a spice dealer. Govert seems to have been the son or nephew of Alexander and Felix van der Hoeve, who were both buyers at Weeskamer auctions (R 20986 and R 31605, resp.) . On 25 September 1626, Govert van der Hoeve, drogist aen de Beurs, bought bulbs at the sale of the bulbs left by Pieter Pietersz. tuynman (WK 5073/952). Govert van der Hoeve was buried in the Z.K. on 2 August 1651 (DTB 1091/1). Govert van der Hoeven (II), cited in an arbitration case, concerning trade in human hair, dated 1666. may have been related to Govert van den Hoeven I (Van Dillen, Bronnen tot de geschiedenis van het bedrijfsleven 144(1974), p. 749)
