BuyerDirck Glaude in Salomons Tempel in de Calverstraet
Buyer FamilyGlaude, Dirck
Buyer NotesThe buyer was an embroiderer (borduijrwercker). In 1644, he had his inventory taken of the goods he pledged for a debt (INVNO 508). He was in relation with the painter Emanuel Joosten. As in 1635, he lived in the Calverstraet in 1644. He may be related to Simon Glaude who was betrothed to Margarita Vincx, the daughter of the painter Abraham Vinck and of Victoria Vincx, on 23 April 1619 (DTB 423/233). (Since Simon Glaude was a widower at the time of this betrothal, it is possible that Dirck Glaude was his son by his previous marriage to Catharina Michiels.) On 22 December 1637, Claes Hermansz., zeemleerkoper (tanner of suede leather) in Amsterdam, ceded to Dirck Glaude embroiderer all the debts that Franchoijs Heldewier owed him for the purchase of the nakweek (offsets of bulbs still in the earth) of a golden tulip that was planted in the garden of Michiel Kitsgens of R 24904 (NA 919, fol. 438vo., Not. B. J. Verbeeck, Extracten). On the business relation between Francoijs Heldewier and his relative Reymont de Smith, see the NOTES to R 23589.
