Buyer Family | Victor, Louys | Buyer Notes | The buyer was the father of the painter and Rembrandt pupil Jan Victor. He was bode op Dort, by which was meant that he handled mail and other business in Dordrecht for Amsterdam citizens. On 2 September 1625, Lowys Victoors, from Amsterdam, bode op Dordrecht, widower of Stijntje Jaspers, living in the Nieuwe Hoochstraet, assisted by his father Victor Victorisz., was betrothed to Geertie Pieters from Amsterdam, widow of Daniel Woutersz. (4 years) (DTB 430/238). On Daniel Woutersz., kistemaecker, see R 26574. On 11 June 1633, Louwis Victor, bode op Dort, widower of Geertie Pieters, living on the Rockin, was betrothed to Marritje Jacobs (Oud Holland 4(1886), p. 221). On 30 March 1634, Louwijs Fictersz. and Mary Jacobs had their daughter Marijtjen baptized in the O.K. (DTB 6/402). For the inventory taken after Louys Victor's death, see INVNO 389 of 22 August 1658. Louis Victor, paint seller, who married Christina Jacobs Pauw in 1666 may have been a granson of the bode (Oud Holland 4(1885), p. 221). |
