Buyer NotesOn 17 September 1611, Jan Tonis, schilder, 23 years old, was betrothed to Marretje Jans (in de Kerck) (Oud Holland, 3 (1886), p. 142). It is known that he used the family name Drent. He was apparently the brother of the painter Barent Thonisz. Drent. Another brother, named Abraham Teunisz. Drent, was a glassmaker who was 25 when he was betrothed to Sara Pieters on 16 July 1626. He was assisted by his brother Barent Thonisz. Drent (DTB 431/297). Still another brother named Cornelis Teunissen Drent was buried on 10 November 1646 (DTB 1046/60).
