Buyer NotesThe merchant Pieter Wymer, born in St. Omer in Southern Netherlands, was first noted in Amsterdam in 1610. (Gelderblom, Zuid-Nederlandse kooplieden, p. 318). He was the son of Pieter Wijmer I and Maria Pellerijn. He at first lived in Vlissingen. One of his sisters, Anna Wijmer, married Jan Six I in 1592; another, named Jeanne Wijmer, married Jan's brother Guilliam Six. A brother named Samuel, married to Dina van Diest, also settled in Amsterdam. On another sister, Nicole Wijmer, see below (I. van Eeghen, Anna Wijmer en Jan Six, Jaarboek Amstelodamum 76(1984), pp. 39-41, De Navorscher 45(1895), p. 437, and Elias, Vroedschap, p. 462). On 1 June 1629, Pieter Wijmer assisted Willem Six (of R 25271), the son of Guilliam Six, on the occasion of his betrothal to Catharina Hinlopen. Nicole Wijmer's first husband was Nicolaes Hespel, the father of Samuel Hespel of R 25237. On 19 January 1627, Pieter Wijmer acquired the dye works on the Verwersgracht, called de Blaeuwe Arent, with all the dyeing equipment in it for 13,000 f. He died in 1636 (Van Eeghen, op. cit. p. 44).
