Buyer Family | Bloemaert, Daniel
Buyer Notes | Daniel Bloemaert was a merchant from Antwerp. who first lived in Emden, Hamburg and Haarlem before settling in Amsterdam, where he is first noted in 1597 (Gelderblom, Zuid-Nederlandse kooplieden, p. 295 and Wijnroks, Handel tussen Rusland en de Nederlanden 1560-1640, p. 222). On 11 March 1602, Daniel Bloemaert caused some goods to be sold, including a few paintings (INVNO 801). In 1606, Daniel Bloemaert and his wife bought 7 lots for 10 st. in the Haarlem lottery (GAA 68/10 F 561). On 16 July 1610, Abraham Blommert, living in Norenburch, 26, son of Jan Blommert, acknowledged receipt from his uncle Daniel Blommert and from his cousin Arnout van Liebergen (of R 30681), his legal guardian, for his share in the inheritance from his father (Jaarboek C.B.G., 25(1971), p. 272). The house de Drie Valken was located on the O.Z. Voorburgwal. It was owned by Jan Meurlinck at the time of his death in 1598 (Elias, Vroedschap, p. 130). His wife Maria Boutrij died before [...] February 1633 when her heirs were cited (NA 694, Not. Jan Warnaert). He apparently remarried with Maritge Bouwens, who survived him. On 29 March 1636, Maritge Bouwens, widow of Daniel Bloemaert, named Gerrit Jacobsz. van Ooszanen to collect money owed to him by the heirs of Marten Gaillart, who had died in Coninsbergen in Prussia (NA 642, fol. 159). This Marten Gaillart is probably not identical with the merchant of the same name of R 29263.
