| Buyer Notes | Surgeon Jacob Dieloffsz. Block, who married Duyfge Egberts in 1638, lived on the Hartenstraet. He was portrayed in Rembrandt's Anatomy lesson of 1632 (Strauss, Rembrandt Documents, p. 93). In early May 1636, Egbert ten Broeck was said to be living in the woonplaets of Mr. Jacob Block, surgeon (NA 342, Not. Sybrant Cornelisz). The painter Gerrit Pietersz. has not been identified. He cannot be identical with Gerrit Pietersz. Sweelinck who died in 1628. | |
