IntroductionOp den 5en january 1621 zyn vercocht de goederen van Anthony Deijgremon [D'Aigremont].
CommentaryAntoni d'Aigremont was married to Magdalena Ransom. On 5 January 1617, Abraham van de Broecke, 22, living in the Nes, assisted by his father Huybert van de Broecke (from Antwerp), was betrothed to Elisabeth d'Aigremont, 19, assisted by her father Antoni d'Aigremont and her stepmother Magdalena Ransom. On 3 August 1619, Anthony d'Aigremont, silk cloth merchant, named Jan van Heusden (of R 36233?), procureur before the court of Sevenbergen, to transfer some land belonging to his wife (NA 382, fol. 45, Not. Jacob and Nicolaes Jacobsz.) Huybrecht van den Broecke invested 1,000 f. in the first subscription for V.O.C. shares (Van Dillen, Het oudste aandeelhoudersregister, p. 161). Numerous lots of satin armosijn and other expensive silk cloths were auctioned at the present sale. Among the buyers: Hans Ransom (presumably related to Magdalena Ransom), Niclaes Ruts in de Baert (portrayed by Rembrandt), Neel Lamberts (of R 20335), Willem Taet (of R 19443 of Montias2), Cornelis Gillisz. in de roo tonnetgen (of R 21898 of Montias2 ?), Valerius van Dalen (of R 27311 of Montias2), and Niclaes Deigremont I(?), probably a relative of Antoni d'Aigremont. On an individual who may be Nicolaes d'Aigremont II, see the TEXT of R 35 of Montias1). In the 1619 inventory of Pieter van den Bergh (or Berge), born in Antwerp about 1563, a debt was recorded in the name of Antoni d'Aigremont, to whom he was said to owe f. 10: 7: 8 for linens (NA 562A). Pieter van den Berge was said to have been active as a sugar refiner at least from 1610 to 1613 (Poelwijk, In dienst vant suyckerbacken, p.256). On 3 August 1619, Anthony d'Aigremont, silk cloth dealer, named Jan van Heusden, procureur before the court of Sevenbergen, to transfer lands belonging to his wife (NA 382, fol. 45). procure Anthony Degremont signed as a witness an agreement between Susanna Ruts and the dyer Andries Barentsz. on 31 August 1634 (NA 991, fol.40, Not. J. Bosch).
