Among the buyers: Jan Seulijns (groote eijcken kas, 2 contrefeijtsels van des overledens grootvader ende grootmoeder 6f.), Hendrick Seulijns (een vrou mantel 51 f.), and Jelis van de Bogaert (drie Spaensche stoelen). Commentary	On Willem Selijns I, see INVNO 956. Willem Selijns II of the present inventory was the son of Jan Selijns I and of Apollonia Sprenckhuysen. He was born on 24 February 1596. He was a dealer in silk cloth. On 12 May 1621, he was betrothed to Susanna Rijckaert, 22, the daughter of the rich merchant Andries Rijckaert (1569-1639), born in Oudenaarde, sugar refiner and spices dealer, widower of Susanna Metsu(e) (Dudok van Heel in Jaarboek Amstelodamum 80(1988), pp.42-3). Willem Selijns II, at the time of this betrothal, was said to be 25 years old. He was assisted by his father Jan Selijns (I), she, by her father Andries Ryckaert (DTB 426/72). After Susanna Rijckaert's death and shortly before his own, he married Susanna van Couwenbergh. He died on 14 September 1629 (Nederlandsche Leeuw 45(1927), col. 114-115). The two minor children of Willem Seulijns II at the time of his death were named Apollonia and Johannes. On his cousins Hendrick, Jan Jansz. and Jan Hendricksz. Selijns, all cited in the INTRO, see the TEXT of R 857 of Montias1 and the NOTES to R 34387 of Montias2. Joost van den Bogaert, cited in the INTRO, married Stijntje Selijns, the sister of Willem Selijns II of the present inventory, in 1618. He died in Pernambuco in 1639 (Nederlandsche Leeuw, loc. cit.) The wife of Andries Rijckaert, also cited in the INTRO, was presumably Susanna Merchijs (Van Dillen, Het oudste aandeelhoudersregister, p. 221). Among the debts due to the estate were the following: Willem Selijns in Riga 3,126 f.; Hendrick Selijns (II), f. 9: 3:--: Abraham Kindt (of R 32457 of Montias2), f. 21: 9: 14; Abraham de Potter I (the father of Jasper de Potter of INVNO 1229 and of Abraham de Potter II of INVNO 1359), 489 f. 19 st.; Egbert de Wit (of R 27693), for silk goods, f. 1,792: 3:10; Laurens Charles (of R 20464), f. 328: 2:10, for shop goods; Anthony Colleur (of R 22170) f. 82:10:--; and Anthony Auckema (of R 7695), f. 6:--:--.
