Commentary | De Nimay, among other books, owned Frans sermoen van Jan Calvin. Samuel Deijnijmaij, pastry baker, was first married to Cataline de Wilde on 22 January 1616 (DTB 420/76). After her death, he was again betrothed to Etter Pele, widower of L. de Lafelot (?), on 30 November 1621 (DTB 426/280). Finally, Samel de Nimaij, widower of Hester Pele, was betrothed to Klara Eelekars (widow of Hans van Soest III), on 19 September 1652 (DTB 470/177). On Hans van Soest I and II, see the TEXT to R 1074. Hans van Soest III may have been a nephew of Hans van Soest II. Some time in 1636, Clara Elicaert sold a house to the widow of the jeweler Augustyn Pas (on the corner of the Barberstraet on the Burchwal) (NA 1418, undated). Before being married to Hans van Soest, Clara Elekarts had been married to the jeweler Hans Ruttens. Their daughter Maria Ruttens married Arnold de Vlaming van Oorthoorn in 1641. Clara Elekaert, after she was widowed from the (bankrupt) merchant Hans van Soest (III), declared on 25 May 1636 that she had not owned goods in common with her late husband (NA 991, fol. 51, Not. J. Bosch). De Nimay is identical with the buyer at R 23590 of Montias2 (see the corresponding NOTES for supplementary information). | |
